January 7, 2021

I am writing an article about the paperless law office. In the past months, our law firm had no major problems with Corona restrictions, home office was no problem. The only things that had to be ensured were availability by phone and scanning of incoming mail.

Paperless office allows structured legal work with the least possible staff. The costs for staff and office supplies (paper, printer toner, etc.) have fallen sharply, although we have made more turnover.

As soon as the courts also send pleadings via the official electronic lawyer’s mailbox and no longer by post, the staff costs for scanning will also be reduced further.

At the end of this year, the retention period for the files from my former work will have expired. Then the entire archive will be destroyed, and I will no longer have to rent new archive rooms!

In addition, I have more personal freedom in attending court appointments and choosing my place of work. I had to get used to new working procedures for this, but I have gained considerably more personal freedom.

Unfortunately, the gym is closed due to the Corona lockdown.

Thank you all for following my journey and writing your experience!
